Lola is back. We haven't seen this black vulture since this time last year, when we watched the sad wasting away of her injured mate, Gimpy. (Their full story is in Eckleberg No. 21, just published and om Amazon or at the Eckleberg website.) In Raptor Love, I left it at "they mate for life." Lola has been coming to the old feeding spot. Alone for the first week or so. Today she brought another bird. I was thinking - her boyfriend? Is she bringing him by to meet the family? They come for breakfast and fly off after feeding - just like my real kids.
